Resurfacing project on Highway 154 officially complete

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A resurfacing project on Highway 154 near Santa Barbara County is officially complete.

The project saw contractors repave over 17 miles of roadway from west of Edison Street to the Cold Spring Canyon Bridge. 

The project began in 2016 but was delayed several times due to wildfires and other weather events.

"This project will further enhance the commuter experience for those driving through the San Marcos Pass while improving traffic flow for local residents,” said Michael S. Williams, President-Executive Director of the Wildland Residents Association.

The $11 million project was contracted out to Santa Maria-based CalPortland,
