Mud leads to early morning shutdown of US-101 N on-ramp at Castillo Street

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UPDATE: California Highway Patrol has re-opened the Northbound US-101 on-ramp at Castillo Street following mud clean-up as of 4:45 a.m. Friday morning.


The Northbound Highway 101 on-ramp at Castillo Street was temporarily shut down while crews cleaned up mud from the roadway Friday morning.

According to California Highway Patrol, the mud fell off the back of a large truck taking it away from the Montecito flood area.

Crews responded to the scene at approximately 3:00 a.m. Friday.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes until the mud is cleaned up.
