POINT MUGU, Calif. - A motorcyclist died after he collided with an emergency call box on Pacific Coast Highway 1 near Naval Air Station Point Mugu Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. on California State Route 1 neary Vista Point.
According to the California Highway Patrol log, the male motorcyclist collided with an emergency call box and was thrown from his motorcycle.
The man laid on the right hand side of the road and his motorcycle came to rest in the roadway.
Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol responded to the crash.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The call box was destroyed and will eventually be replaced by a third party.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
