Motorcyclist injured after car makes U-turn in oncoming traffic near Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. - A motorcyclist is in serious condition after he was cut off in traffic by a vehicle making a U-turn in oncoming traffic Thursday morning near Oxnard.

The crash happened Thursday morning at around 6:00 a.m. on Pleasant Valley Road near Oxnard.

The 67-year-old motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Pleasant Valley Road, south of State Route 34 on a black Harley Davidson.

A green Volkswagen Passat was traveling northbound on Pleasant Valley Road, when the driver of the vehicle made a U-turn directly into the path of the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist veered to the right and collided with the right front side of the Passat. The rider was thrown from his motorcycle and onto the roadway.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center.

The driver of the Volkswagen Passat was uninjured.
