SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A woman had to be cut out of her vehicle after a head-on collision Thursday morning.
It happened on Highway 154 at about 7:30 a.m. the California Highway Patrol reported an SUV and a Honda sedan crashed into each other for unknown reasons.
The woman driving the sedan was described to be in her mid 20's and was trapped inside her car and needed major extrication, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni. She was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries.
The man driving the SUV, also described to be in his 20's, suffered minor injuries in the crash Zaniboni said. He was also taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ambulance.
The roadway was briefly closed for emergency crews and investigators.
No other details were immediately known. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
