SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The driver of a vehicle that rolled over in downtown Santa Barbara late Saturday night is facing possible felony DUI charges related to the crash.
At around 11:15 p.m., a 35-year-old woman was driving a white Honda Fit on the 2500 block of Chapala Street when she suddenly turned the vehicle sharply, causing the car to roll.
The car rolled onto its top and came to rest next to a parked car.
The driver and a 30-year-old male passenger were transported to Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered during the crash. The passenger was treated and released for minor injuries. The driver was admitted with moderate injuries.
Investigators learned that the pair were visiting from out of town and had been drinking at a business on the 500 block of State Street before the crash.
Because the driver was admitted to the hospital, she could face charges for felony DUI from the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.
