Brett Silvernail erased a six-shot deficit at the start of the day to win the 54th annual Santa Barbara City Golf Championship.

The sophomore from UCSB who played his high school golf at Buena, fired a closing round 66 to win the tournament at six under par at the Santa Barbara Golf Club. Second round leader Steven Lam of SBCC finished second at 5-under par.

Silvernail birdied the 18th hole and Lam had a chance to force a playoff but could not negotiate an 8-foot eagle putt on 18.

Brian Helton, Kevin Marsh and James Camaione all tied for third place at 4-under par.
