SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - John Jensen will become the latest Santa Barbara High School alum to play baseball at UC Irvine.
Jensen, who is currently playing at Santa Barbara City College, has already verbally committed to the Anteaters but will make it official next month on National Signing Day.
As a freshman at SBCC, Jensen was named Most Valuable Player for the Western State Conference North Division after leading the league in hitting with a .380 average and he was tops in on-base percentage at .459. He was second in slugging percentage and in stolen bases.
Jensen will play again this season for the Vaqueros before moving onto UC Irvine where he will have two seasons of eligibility.
Jensen graduated Santa Barbara High School in 2016. Dylan Axelrod, Crosby Slaught and Johnny Brontsema are former Dons stars that also played at UC Irvine.
