It's another first for Santa Ynez High School baseball.

Playing in their first-ever CIF semifinal game, the Pirates beat Big Bear 4-1 to punch their ticket to the program's first CIF championship game. Santa Ynez will face Sun Valley Village Christian on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the CIF Southern Section Division 5 title game at UC Riverside.

Zach Snyder worked 6 1/3 innings for the Pirates and Zach Torra got the final two outs as Santa Ynez adds to their school-record win total which is now 28 against just one loss. Big Bear ends the year at 25-3.
