SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Ralph Molina has been attending football practices at Santa Barbara High School this week and the longtime coach is set to officially become a Dons assistant under JT Stone.
Molina was reportedly at practice wearing Dons apparel and coaching up the defense.
Molina was the defensive coordinator at Bishop Diego and was with the Cardinals for almost 20 years but he recently left in what he called a personal decision.
Dons head coach JT Stone confirmed to KEYT Newschannel 3 Sports Director Mike Klan that Molina has been at practice and said that it was looking good that he would join the staff. The school board needs to approve the hire.
Santa Barbara opens the season on Saturday, August 26 against the top team in the CIF division 6 preseason rankings Saugus. Kickoff is 7pm at Santa Barbara City College.
