UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After being roughed up at San Diego State to open up the season, UCSB gets into the win column in 2018 with a 7-2 victory against Fresno State in the Gauchos home opener.

Junior Luke Andrews pitched seven solid innings to get the victory in his first NCAA Division 1 start.

He allowed just one run on four hits while striking out 4.

Armani Smith snapped a scoreless game in the bottom of the fourth with a bases loaded single as UCSB put up two runs on the scoreboard.

They broke the game open with a 5-run sixth inning.

UCSB (1-3) plays Mississippi State on Friday in a tournament in Texas.
