Over 100 Santa Barbara residents will run LA Marathon to bring clean water to Africa

Running for a cause

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Five years running and still going strong.

More than one hundred residents in the Santa Barbara area will once again lace up their sneakers and run in the Los Angeles Marathon to raise money for clean water projects in Africa.

Most of the participants are from OceanHills Church in Santa Barbara and they have joined Team World Vision to try and solve the global water crisis.

Since beginning in 2014 this Santa Barbara group has raised almost 500,000 dollars which has brought clean water to almost ten thousand people. Fifty dollars provides clean water for life for one person.

This year OceanHills and Team World Vision have organized a bicycle ride to raise money and they will leave from Santa Barbara and ride down to Hermosa Beach on March 17, the day before the LA Marathon.
