Virginia 61, Maryland 58 (OT): Forward Mike Tobey scored 13 points, including what proved to be the game-winning basket on a tip-in with 1:46 left in overtime, as the Cavaliers rallied from a 17-point first half deficit to win their 17th straight home game.Akil Mitchell scored 17 points and 10 rebounds for Virginia (21-10, 11-7 ACC), which finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference and clinched a first-round ACC tournament bye. Joe Harris added 15 points for the Cavaliers.Nick Faust finished with 15 points for Maryland (20-11, 8-10), which has now dropped five straight games to Virginia. Dez Wells, who missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the end of overtime, had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Faust scored 10 points during a 19-2 run by Maryland as the Terrapins took an early 25-8 lead. The Cavaliers, who trailed by 17 points on three different occasions in the half, closed within 32-19 at intermission thanks to a 3-pointer by Justin Anderson just before the buzzer.The Cavs battled back to tie it at 52 on a long 3-pointer by Harris but Wells put Maryland ahead on a 12-foot floater with 6.9 seconds remaining. Virginia then forced overtime when Tobey took an inbounds pass and scored on a five-footer in the key, setting the stage for Tobey's game-winning basket in OT. GAME NOTEBOOK: Maryland will be the seventh seed in the ACC tourney and will face Wake Forest on Thursday at 7 p.m. ... Virginia improved to 2-6 in games decided by four points or less. ...
