Lions Handed First Opening Night Loss In School History

Oaks Christian isn't used to losing, but Friday's 20-17 loss to Alemany could be just what the Lions need for motivation as the team gears up for its first season in the Marmonte League.

Alemany came into the newly renovated Thorson Stadium and took it right to the Lions scoring in its first possession to take an early 7-0 lead. In his first Varsity start, quarterback Trevor Gretzky went 15-21for 184 yards passing and scored on the Lions first possession.

Oaks Christian will take a week off before its first Marmonte league contest with familiar foe St. Bonaventure on the 17th.
