Late Rally Lifts Westmont Men Past Vanguard

Late Putback Gives Westmont Win Over Vanguard

Written by Mike Klan

Anthony Lipold's only basket of the night put Westmont up for good as they beat Vanguard 82-80 in men's college basketball. Lipold putback a Preston Branson miss with 25 seconds left that gave the Warriors an 81-80 lead. Branson added a free throw with 11 seconds left and Vanguard missed a shot with two seconds remaining that would have tied the contest. Branson scored a team-high 22 points and C.J. Miller added 17 as the Warriors kept a share of first place in the Golden State Athletic Conference. Westmont, Concordia and The Master's are all 8-3 in league.
