Gauchos To Face Ohio State In NCAA Tournament

KEYT Sports

Fresh off its Big West title win Saturday, on Sunday the UCSB men's basketball team prepared for the next step as the team found out who and where they'll play in the NCAA Tournament.

The Gauchos were awarded with a 15 seed and will square off with the Big Ten champion and two seed Ohio State. The game will be played Friday in Milwaukee.

"It's exciting to be a part of it, to travel across the country. We'll be playing a great team and against a player (Evan Turner) who I believe may be the best player in the country, so it's going to be a challenge," Gauchos head coach Bob Williams said.

It's the first time since 2002 UCSB is making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The two teams have met twice in the past, the last being in 1993, Ohio State has won both contests.
