SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - One day Jane Frederick was participating in the pentathlon at Olympic Stadium in Munich, soon afterwards she was attending a memorial for eleven members of the Israeli Olympic team in 1972.
The twenty-year old Frederick was waiting outside of the Olympic Village when a Palestinian group known as Black September got off a bus with hostages and onto a military helicopter that flew them to an airport. Soon afterwards chaos broke out at the airport and all the hostages were killed. The Munich Massacre forever changed security at the Olympics.
U.S. Olympian and Santa Barbara resident Jane Frederick shares her story with NewsChannel 3.
