SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Three more Cal Poly Mustangs were taken on day two of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.
Junior Nick Torres was taken in the fourth round(117th overall) by the San Diego Padres.
Torres led the Mustangs with 52 RBI and he tied for the team lead in home runs with six. The right fielder batted .322 in helping Cal Poly win its first-ever Big West Conference title.
Two Mustangs were drafted in the seventh round. Left fielder Zach Zehner went to Toronto. Zehner, who played at Santa Barbara City College, hit .316 this year. Closer Reed Reilly, who had 12 saves this season, was nabbed by Boston. His ERA was 1.71 this past season and he compiled a 3-1 record.
Teammate Matt Imhof was selected on day one of the draft in the second round by the Philadelphia Phillies.
