Alan Williams Named Big West Player of the Year

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Alan Williams is one of the best players on the west coast so it was no surprise that the junior was named Big West Conference Player of the Year. He is 12th in the country in scoring at 21.6 points per game and his 11.6 rebounds per contest is tied for the nation's lead with Killian Larson of Grand Canyon University.

UCSB junior point guard Zalmico Harmon garnered the league's Hustle Award as well as being named Honorable Mention. The Ventura College transfer averaged 8 points and 5 assists per game and his assist-turnover ratio is one of the best in the country.

For the second consecutive year, the Gauchos Kyle Boswell earned Sixth Man of the Year honors. The senior averaged over 10 points per game and shot 44% from three-point range. He needs six three-pointers to become UCSB's all-time leader.

UCSB sophomore Michael Bryson was also Honorable Mention.

The Gauchos finished second in league and will open up the conference tournament Thursday at noon against rival Cal Poly.
