Holguin's heroics ends marathon 12 inning game as Dons edge DP 1-0

Holguin's big hit lifts Dons in 12...

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Finally the clutch hit came in the twelfth inning.

Santa Barbara's Tommy Holguin drove a pitch into right center field and Logan Foy raced home from third as the Dons celebrated a 1-0 Channel League marathon win over Dos Pueblos.

Both teams squandered plenty of chances to score as the Dons had runners in scoring position throughout the game while DP left the bases loaded in the tenth inning and had two runners on in each of the eleventh and twelfth innings but could not get anyone home.

The Dons have now won four straight league games while the Chargers have dropped four consecutive league contests.

Santa Barbara is 4-3 in the Channel League while DP drops to 2-4-1 in league.

The two teams play again on Friday in Goleta.
