Longtime Dons Coach Not Slowing Down

SBHS Graduate Butcher Gives Back to School

Butcher is a Great Role Model for Dons Players

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Andrew Butcher runs swap meets, buys food trucks, prints t-shirts and oh yeah, he has coached the Santa Barbara High School girls basketball team to Friday's Division 3 CIF State Championship game.

The swap meets, the food truck and the t-shirts all raise money for Santa Barbara High School. A SBHS graduate, Butcher is always looking for ways to improve his school.

On the court, Butcher led the Dons to their first-ever CIF Southern Section title as well as its first SoCal Regional Championship. The 30-5 Dons play Modesto Christian at 2 p.m. on Friday in Sacramento for the State Championship.

Butcher is in his 32nd year as head coach of the Dons and was selected as CIF Division 3-AA Coach of the Year.

The players say that Butcher is a giving and positive force on the sidelines.
