UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The good news is that UCSB has an explosive offense that can build up leads of over 20 points.
The bad news is that the Gauchos have had a tough time hanging onto these leads over the past couple of games.
On Thursday, Janauary 4 the Gauchos blew a 21-point lead and lost 80-79 at Cal Poly.
Then on January 6, UCSB led 56-33 with just over ten minutes to go against UC Riverside but had to fight off the Highlanders before winning 65-57 to improve to 1-1 in the Big West Conference and 12-4 overall.
Riverside hit UCSB with an 18-0 run to pull within 56-51 before sophomore Max Heidegger nailed a couple of three-pointers to push UCSB into the win column.
The Gauchos play at Hawaii on January 13.
