RICHMOND, Va. -- Joey Logano took the lead for the final time with four laps to go and went on to win the Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night.

Logano joined Kevin Harvick as the only two multi-race winners in 2014 with two victories each.

Jeff Gordon finished second and was followed by Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth in the top five.

Kenseth restarted in the lead with nine laps to go but was unable to hold off Gordon and Keselowski, who both battled him for the front. As the three-car battle ensued, Logano passed them for the lead and ultimately the win.

Gordon dominated the second half of the race. He gave up the lead to Logano on Lap 243 but got back to the front a few laps later. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also led a few laps late in the race.

Kenseth took the lead for the first time with 39 laps to go and maintained the top spot through three late-race restarts before giving up the position to Logano in the closing laps.

Tire issues throughout the race resulted in four cars catching fire when shredded tire rubber flew up under the hood. Clint Bowyer, Cole Whitt, Reed Sorenson and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. each saw their efforts go up in smoke with flat tires.

Tire issues also hurt Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards, causing unscheduled pit stops under green that put them laps down.

Keselowski was the leader at the halfway point. Harvick and Gordon also led during the early portions of the race.

Keselowski was the beneficiary from an incident between pole-sitter Kyle Larson and Bowyer on the first lap that handed the lead to Keselowski.

He lost that lead to Harvick on the 32nd lap. Harvick almost gave up the lead to Kasey Kahne on Lap 40, but a competition caution came out just in time to keep Harvick in the top spot.

Harvick did lose the lead on lap 56 when Keselowski reclaimed the top spot. Keselowski then gave up the lead to Gordon on the next caution at lap 99. He also lost four additional spots on pits on pit road.

Keselowski went from the lead to sixth during the caution, dropping spots on pit road. But when the race returned to green, he raced his way back toward the front, moving up to second on lap 137 as Gordon continued to lead.

Keselowski then reclaimed the lead shortly after a restart on lap 173. His Team Penske teammate followed him past Gordon to take over second.
