The Detroit Lions signed 11 college players who went undrafted, the team announced Monday.
One of the players signed is Missouri quarterback James Franklin. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Franklin was a dual-threat quarterback at Missouri, throwing for 6,962 yards and rushing for 1,729 over his career.
The other players include: linebacker Justin Jackson (Wake Forest), fullback Chad Abram (Florida State), guards Alex Bullard (Tennessee) and D.J. Morrell (Old Dominion), defensive backs Jerome Couplin (William & Mary), Gabe Lynn (Oklahoma) and Mohammed Seisay (Nebraska), offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas (Kansas State), tight end Jacob Maxwell (Louisiana-Lafayette) and receiver Andrew Peacock (Appalachian State).
The Lions also released eight players: wide receivers Carlin Isles and Cody Wilson, center Sherman Carter, linebacker Jon Morgan, cornerback Nate Ness, safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, kicker John Potter and tight end Matt Veldman.
