Dos Pueblos football will be strong in the trenches in 2017

DP has big and talented lineman on...

GOLETA, Calif. - Post game meals might get expensive this year for the Dos Pueblos High School football program.

Senior lineman Erick Nisich is listed at 6'4, 275 pounds, fellow senior Nathan Beveridge is 6'6, 285 and junior Angel Flores is 6'5, 325.

Those three are not only large, they are talented as are fellow lineman Matthew Molina and Justin Padilla.

Many of those guys play on both sides of the ball so the Chargers should be able to control the line of scrimmage in many of their games.

DP has a new varsity starting quarterback in Jake Ramirez who has terrific wide receivers to throw to such as Cyrus Wallace, Michael Elbert and Daniel Arzate. Wallace does have a knee injury and will miss the start of the season.

Nate Mendoza's Chargers are always stout on defense and DP hopes to build on last year's CIF quarterfinal appearance as they captured the program's first playoff win since 2001.

Dos Pueblos opens the year on Friday, August 25 against the always tough San Juan Hills.
