SANTA YNEZ, Calif. -

The Santa Ynez High School baseball team is loaded with experience but it's a sophomore that gets the start on the mound for the championship game. Zach Torra and his 10-0 record will square off against another lefty, Chris Davidson and Village Christian for the CIF Southern Section Division 5 title.

The Pirates are 28-1 entering today's 1 p.m. game at UC Riverside while Village Christian of Sun Valley is 22-8. Santa Ynez is making its first-ever championship game appearance.

Although both teams have plenty of offense, it would not be a surprise to see a low-scoring game with pitching dominating on the big field that the Highlanders use for college baseball games.
