Cal Poly is one of the sweet sixteen. For the first time in school history, Cal Poly will host an NCAA Regional.

The Mustangs will open up regional play against Sacramento State on Friday at 6 p.m. at Baggett Stadium. Arizona State will play Pepperdine in Friday's other game at Cal Poly.

The Mustangs captured its first-ever Big West Conference baseball championship with a 19-5 record and they went 45-10 overall in the regular season.

Cal Poly's Baggett Stadium will be one of 16 sites around the country to host the 68th annual NCAA Division 1 Baseball Championship. This will be the Mustangs third trip to the NCAA Regionals, all since 2009.

Each regional field features four teams playing a double-elimination format. The games are scheduled for Friday, May 30, to Monday, June 2.
