Westmont women's and mens basketball increase first place lead in GSAC

It is a perfect ten for the No. 8 Westmont College women's basketball team. Behind 22 points and nine rebounds from the reigning NAIA Player of the Week Tugce Canitez, Westmont defeated #3 Vanguard 70-58.

The Warriors have won ten straight games and are 18-3 for the year. They are 9-0 in league and lead Vanguard by two games for first place in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

In men's action, Cooper Damron scored a team-high 19 points as Westmont pulled away from Vanguard 76-65 for their 20th victory on the year against just four losses. Leading 50-45 with nine minutes to go, the Warriors went on a 9-0 run to put the game away. At 8-1 in league, Westmont leads the GSAC by two games.
