Gauchos beat UC Irvine 49-41 in final regular season game

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Nicole Nesbit scored a game-high 17 points to led UC Santa Barbara over UC Irvine in the final regular-season game of the year.

UCSB (15-15 overall, 11-7 Big West) heads into the Big West Tournament riding a three-game winning streak. The Gauchos beat UC Irvine 49-41 on Saturday. 

Sweets Underwood added 12 points for UCSB.

The Gauchos will play their first game of the tournament in the quarterfinals round Wednesday at the Bren Events Center in Irvine as they face the highest seed remaining  from first-round action.
