UCSB introduces new women's volleyball head coach

Lantagne Welch succeeds legendary coach Kathy Gregory

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Even though she was in Miami, Nicole Lantagne Welch had been keeping an eye on the UCSB women's volleyball program for several years. Now she can keep tabs on the Gauchos in her new office at UCSB. The Gauchos officially introduced Lantagne Welch as the head coach of women's volleyball at a press conference.

She guided the University of Miami (Fla.) to five NCAA Tournaments, one Sweet 16 and 243 wins over 12 seasons. She takes over for legendary head coach Kathy Gregory who retired after leading the Gauchos since 1975.
