Top-Seeded Dons H2O beaten in semifinals by Sailors

Santa Barbara had beaten Newport Harbor in three previous games this year but the Sailors get their revenge as they upset the top-seeded Dons 8-5 in a CIF Division 1 semifinal girls water polo game in Irvine.

The Dons never led in the game falling behind 3-0 and they could never get closer than a two-goal deficit. They trailed 4-2 after one period and 5-3 at halftime.

Santa Barbara had their 20-game win streak snapped as they end a terrific year at 25-5. They won two prestigious tournaments and advanced to the CIF semifinals after three consecutive defeats in the quarterfinals.
