Richey's 31 points not enough for Bishop Diego boys basketball

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Bishop Diego's outstanding senior point guard Caleb Richey scored a game-high 31 points but the Cardinals could not combat Bellarmine-Jefferson's size advantage and lost 78-56 in a CIF Division 5AA second round game.

Richey, coming off a triple-double in a first-round road win, scored 15 points from the free-throw line. Thomas Lash scored 16 points for the Cardinals who finish the year 14-13.

6-5 sophomore Abid Oses scored 26 points for Bell-Jeff while 6-5 junior Malcom Regisford added 11 points.
