SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A new fire burning south of Los Alamos has already scorched at least 30 acres.
The fire is currently burning in the 4600 block of Drum Canyon Road and was first reported at about 12:14 p.m. According to a Tweet by Santa Barbra County Public Information Officer Mike Eliason, the fire is burning in moderate to heavy brush with a moderate rate of spread.
Several resources fighting the Thomas Fire have been moved to assist with this new fire. Aircraft are assisting with this fire, according to Eliason. Resources from San Luis Obispo County are also assisting with this firefight.
No further details were immediately known. We will update this story when new information becomes available.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
