LOS OLIVOS, Calif. - Firefighters responded to the Santa Ynez Valley to battle a small vegetation fire near Los Olivos Sunday night.
At around 8:30 p.m. Santa Barbara County Fire personnel responded to 4050 West Oak Trail near Los Olivos for a report of a fire.
First engines arriving on scene discovered a working vegetation fire burning five to ten acres in heavy fuel moving at a moderate rate of spread.
Multiple engines, dozers and a hand crew responded to put out the blaze. Additional units were called in to respond but crews on scene turned them away.
At around 9:30 p.m. the fire was believed to be about 75 percent contained. Crews expected to have the fire full extinguished in a few short hours.
An investigator is en route to determine the cause.
