SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Santa Barbara County and Los Padres Forest firefighters were busy battling a structure fire that broke out in the 500 block of Refugio Road just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire completely burned down a 2-story adobe residential structure, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni. The fire also ignited nearby grass which firefighters quickly put out. Less than an acre of light brush was burned.
A helicopter was called to assist with the fire but was not used.
Crews will remain on scene for several hours mopping up. No further details were immediately known. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
