Fire crews respond to brush fire on Gibraltar Road above Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Multiple fire agencies responded to a reported brush fire in the 3000 block of Gibraltar Road above Santa Barbara Tuesday night.

The fire was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m., immediately following the Fourth of July fireworks show at Santa Barbara's waterfront. The Rock Fire burned less than an acre with a slow rate of spread.

Crews quickly put out the fire and cut brush to make sure flare-ups don't spread or restart the fire. They will be on scene through the night to ensure hot spots are put out.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
