GOLETA, Calif. - The parking lot at Dos Pueblos High School has transformed into a command center for the Whittier firefight.
Crews rolling in from the Los Padres National Forest Service and other mutual aid have set up shop, and they'll likely be at the high school for days. The fire has a massive plume--visible in the hills above.
On the dinner menu--Woody's Barbeque. The popular eatery provided 600 breakfasts Sunday morning and 800 chicken and tri-tip dinners Sunday evening.
The commissary will be set up on Monday to feed the hundreds of firefighters battling the blaze.
