Crews battle new weekend brush fire at Harris Grade in Lompoc

LOMPOC, Calif. - Firefighters were busy battling a new wildfire that broke out late Sunday afternoon near the Harris Grade summit in Lompoc.

The incident was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. and was quickly contained to less than one acre.

The fire was not wind driven according to emergency traffic radio, but it was heading into heavy brush which could have the potential to flare up.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No further information was immediately known.
