SANTA YNEZ, Calif. - A vegetation fire broke out near Santa Ynez early Sunday morning.
The fire was first reported at around 7:30 a.m. near Happy Canoyon road, northeast of Santa Ynez.
Heavy fog in the area made it difficult for fire crews to find the exact location of the fire.
Fire crews eventually found burning grass and light brush that had spread to over 10 acres. By 3:30 p.m., the total acreage of the fire was updated to 26 acres.
30 personnel responded to the blaze and a helicopter flew overhead making water drops.
Forward progress of the flames was quickly stopped.
No structures were threatened by the fire and no injuries were reported.
Downed powerlines were located in the area and Pacific Gas and Electric was called to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
