VENTURA, Calif. - A truck crashed through an office building in Ventura Friday morning injuring one person and sending police on a manhunt for two other people involved.
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, just after 1:00 a.m. crews were called to the scene after a full size pickup truck plowed through the first floor of a multi-story office building on the 5700 block of Moon Drive.
The crash caused a small fire that was contained by the building's sprinkler system. Fire crews from Ventura City, Ventura County, Oxnard, and Santa Paula fire departments were dispatched to the scene, and managed to fully extinguish within an hour.
The fire traveled from the first floor all the way to the roof of the building, according to the Ventura City Fire Department. No firefighters were injured in the incident.
One passenger from the truck was rushed to Ventura County Medical Center's trauma center. The condition of that person remains unknown. Two other passengers from the car fled and have yet to be located, the Ventura County Fire Department said.
The building is reportedly an insurance office.
