CAMARILLO, Calif. - We are learning more about a local victim of the deadly Las Vegas shooting at a country music concert.
56-year-old Lt. Derrick “Bo” Taylor worked at the Ventura Conservation Camp in Camarillo as a Commander. He was a 29-year veteran of the department.
The camp helps train prison inmates to become firefighters working on the line with other fire crews.
Bo and his girlfriend, Denise Cohen went to Las Vegas to enjoy the music at the Route 91 Harvest music festival.
A family friend of Cohen wrote on Facebook the couple was among those killed during the attack.
Officials with the Ventura camp said they are saddened by the news and that their thoughts are with the family at this time.
