VENTURA, Calif. - For the past month fires have been set on purpose to clear an old lemon orchard.
The owner of the property is making way for strawberries.
The fires called controlled burns led to dozens of 911 calls weeks ago, but today there was little alarm.
Thanks to calm conditions the fires burned two piles of brush and chopped-down trees Tuesday morning near Victoria Avenue and the 101 Freeway in Ventura.
The Air Pollution Control District gave the burn crew the green light to finish the job.
Monday it was too windy to do so.
