VENTURA, Calif. - Assemblywoman Monique Limón was honored by the Ventura County League of United Latin American Citizens on Saturday.
LULAC recognized the 37th District Assemblymember at a weekend luncheon.
They say the Democrat serving Santa Barbara and a portion of Ventura County made sure emergency information during the Thomas Fire was provided in multiple languages.
During a recent Women's History Month event in Sacramento Limón said, "Being here in the state Assembly as the first women of color elected from Santa Barbara County and as one of only 22 percent of women that make up the state legislature is really an honor for our community, but also for me and it comes with a lot of great responsiblity."
Limón was honored during a luncheon in Ventura on Saturday after she appeared in the Ventura Strong St. Patrick's Day parade that honored first responders as Grand Marshals.
