VENTURA, Calif. - Firefighters responded to a blaze that broke out at a two-story multi-family complex just before 11:30 a.m. Friday in Ventura.
The residence is located in the 4700 block of Sullivan Street. Fire crews from several agencies, including Ventura City, Oxnard, and Ventura County, responded to the fire Friday morning.
Heavy smoke was reportedly seen from at least one mile out from the scene of the fire.
The fire was knocked shortly before 12 p.m., according to fire officials.
Firefighters worked quickly to ensure all residents were out of the 16-unit building got out safely. Thirteen adults and three children were displaced as a result of the fire and were assisted by the Red Cross.
No firefighters were injured. The cause is under investigation.
