Vandenberg Village pursuit leaves suspect still on the run

LOMPOC, Calif. - At approximately 3:45 am Sunday morning, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched for a report of several people in their 20's opening car doors in the area of Polaris and Vega in Vandenberg Village.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says it was reported the suspects were associated with a white single cab truck.

Upon arrival in the area, deputies noticed a white Nissan pickup truck. A deputy attempted to contact the driver, and ordered him to stop but he fled the area.

A pursuit began through Vandenberg Village and Mission Hills.

Ultimately, the pursuit made its way into Lompoc where it was terminated by the Lompoc Police Department due to public safety concerns.

The vehicle was located abandoned on West Cypress, the male driver however has still not been found.

Sheriff's deputies are actively investigating the case.
