SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival featured the U.S. premiere of a surfing documentary called La Bella Vita. La Bella Vita means the beautiful life in Italian.

Director Jason Baffa follows the adventures of surfers, including some of his pro-surfer relatives as they traveled to Italy to check out the waves. While they are there, they dive into Italian culture. On the red carpet Monday night, Baffa said he met one of his stars Chris Del Moro at the festival during the screening of another one of his film. Baffa's latest surf film turned out to be a pilgrimage to a place in Italy that has become a surf lifestyle destination. He said you don't have to be a surfer to enjoy the film.
