The research team at UC Santa Barbara's Brain Imaging Center has been given a huge grant to continue their work.

The NFL in collaboration with General Electric selected UCSB to be part of a $20 million brain injury initiative. The university's Brain Imaging Center is one of just 16 research groups that will receive $300,000 as the NFL and GE look to improve safety of athletes, soldiers and other who sustain traumatic brain injury.

UC Santa Barbara's research focuses on developing software tools that determine if and how the connectors in the brain are damaged after a head injury.
