SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Two men are recovering from minor injuries after their car went off Gibraltar Road Thursday morning.

Officials responded to a vehicle that drove nearly 200 feet off the hillside of Gibraltar Road near Santa Barbara around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Two men in their early 20's were in the car at the time, but managed to get out of the vehicle on their own.

"Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Search and Rescue worked together to get a rope system down to the vehicle and assess the patients and then bring the patients back up here to Gibralter road," said Larry Ryan, from Santa Barbara County Fire.

The two men suffered minor injuries and taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ambulance.

CHP is investigating what caused the crash.
