Two Kids Sent to the Hospital with Minor Injuries

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

California Highway Patrol is investigating a small pick-up truck that crashed into a school bus full of elementary school children. Approximately thirty students were assessed for injuries and accounted for.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. at Broadway and Donovan Road in Santa Maria on Wednesday. The accident occurred in the middle of the intersection.

Two children were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. One child, after arriving at school, complained of pain.

One adult was also treated on scene for minor injuries.

CHP said both cars were trying to make a left hand turn.

Santa Maria police and fire also responded.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
