The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians are looking to get their name back into the NBA spotlight.
The Chumash tribe previously had a marketing deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, advertising their name on the backboard posts at games in the Staples Center.
The Chumash ended that deal when former team owner Donald Sterling got into hot water with controversial remarks seen as racist toward African-Americans.
But with the recent sale of the team to new owner Steve Ballmer, the Chumash Tribal Chairman has considered a new marketing deal with the Clippers.
"We are pleased to hear that the sale has been finalized, and we are open to discussing future partnership opportunities with the organization as it enters a new era of L.A. Clippers basketball." said Vincent Armenta.
